FAQs

Touch-Up Pro

  • What is the difference between a repaint and a touch-up?

A touch-up is a cost-effective solution for minor paint issues and rock chips. It protects the underlying metal and reduces damage visibility by approximately 30-40%. A repaint, however, is a full restoration process that includes sanding, priming, painting, and clear coating to fully restore the paint to its original condition.
  • How long after my repair do I have to wait to drive my vehicle?

Your vehicle is immediately drivable once our technician completes the repair work. No waiting period is necessary before resuming normal vehicle use.
  • When can I wash and wax my vehicle after it has been repaired?

We recommend allowing 24 hours after repair completion before washing or waxing your vehicle. This period ensures the paint has cured sufficiently to withstand cleaning without affecting the repair quality.
  • When can I put a paint protection film or clearbra on my vehicle after it has been repaired?

We suggest waiting a full week before applying paint protection film (PPF) or Clearbra following a repair. This ensures complete paint curing, preventing potential damage to the fresh paint during protective material application.
  • Does Touch Up Pro report to CarFax?

Touch Up Pro does not submit reports to Carfax. We collect your vehicle identification number (VIN) solely to obtain accurate paint codes and order the correct parts for your repair. Please be aware that if you file an insurance claim, your insurance company may report information to Carfax independently of our services. Additionally, in some cases, dealerships or parts suppliers may report parts sales or service activity associated with specific VINs to Carfax; however, this is entirely outside of Touch Up Pro’s control and is not directed or initiated by us.
  • Will Touch Up Pro share my vehicle's information?

Touch Up Pro adheres to strict confidentiality standards regarding your vehicle information and personal data. Our policy prohibits selling or reporting any client-provided information to third parties.
  • Will rain affect my paint job?

Rain will not negatively impact your paint job. You can safely drive in rainy conditions immediately after repair completion without concerns. During repairs, our technicians use protective awnings and covers to shield your vehicle's paint from environmental elements if rain occurs.
  • How long do I need to wait to have my vehicle ceramic coated after a repair?

We recommend waiting one full week before applying ceramic coating to your vehicle after a repair. This waiting period allows complete paint curing, preventing potential damage during the ceramic coating application process.
  • When can I add decals to my vehicle after a repair?

We advise waiting one full week before applying any stickers or decals to newly painted surfaces. This ensures the paint has fully cured and is properly prepared to accept adhesive materials.
  • When can I wipe down my vehicle after it has been repaired?

Your vehicle can be wiped down immediately following repair completion. No waiting period is required before cleaning the surface of your vehicle.
